Under the NHS Constitution, patients in England can choose which provider carries out their assessment — including for ADHD. It's how you can be seen in days instead of years, fully NHS-funded.

Right to Choose applies to your first outpatient appointment and doesn't cover urgent or crisis care.
How to use your Right to Choose
Take the 60-second test
Screen your symptoms with the validated ASRS-v1.1 tool.
Speak to your GP
Ask for a Right to Choose referral to Rainbow Diagnostics.
GP refers via e-RS
Your GP submits the referral through the NHS e-Referral Service.
Send us your referral number
Once referred, call 01245 690 680 or email Hello@rainbowadhd.com with your referral (UBRN) number so we can book you in.
Specialist assessment
A full DSM-5 evaluation with a GMC-registered clinician.
Report & treatment
You receive a detailed report, treatment plan and GP letter.
What to say to your GP
"I'd like to be referred for an NHS adult ADHD assessment under my Right to Choose. I would like to be referred toRainbow Diagnostics. Please could you send the referral through the NHS e-Referral Service?"
